- It is what it is except for what it isn’t and that’s what makes it fun. At first glance the woman applying mascara appears to be so good at her trade she can work on two people at once. Of course, a millisecond later we realize it’s a mirrored image. Nonetheless, no illusion works unless we can communicate effectively with our camera. A picture may speak a thousand words, but it ends with a “punch line.”
