- There is an austerity to this scene as the newlyweds hold court in silence in a room that seems strangely austere. The musician, painted in some form of shimmering light, is the only other person seen but his distance from the couple adds a dissonance to his rhythm. There is more in this image felt, probably erroneously, that provides its sharp edge beneath a chandelier festooned with the twist of metal twigs. I love it.
